Things To Know Before You Go Natural

Things to know before you go natural

More and more ladies are going natural and I hope it is here to stay! When I first went natural, I tried to convince almost every girl I know to join me, lol. I’m glad to see that a lot of people are on the trail now.
Although having a relaxer-free hair is the healthiest your hair can ever be, it is not for everyone.
These are some things I think you should know before you put that scissors to your hair.

1. Do not go natural just because everyone else is doing it!
That is a very bad idea for so many reasons, one of which is that you will get tired and frustrated with the hair very soon.
Natural hair needs a lot of patience and tender loving care, you have to be ready to put in work to make it slay! Yasss! 
So go natural because you really want to, not because you want to jump on the bandwagon.
2. Do some research before you cut your hair.

Gather information about natural hair and how to take care of it before you venture into this process. Be aware of the do’s and don’t’s of natural hair and equip yourself with the necessary materials you will need before you start. Don’t go in blind, it will save you time and money and also save you from wasted efforts.

3. Everyone’s hair is not the same.
If you are going natural because you think yours will look exactly like the girl’s hair you saw at the salon or online or anywhere else, be prepared to be disappointed. Everyone’s hair texture is not the same, there are different hair types, find out what yours is(You can see your natural hair type when you look at the new growth under the relaxed part).
Not every hair product and hair regimen will work for you, just experiment with different ones until you find what/which works for you.
4. Be Confident.
Be confident. It’s as simple as that. Be ready to ignore all the naysayers trying to discourage you from wearing your hair natural. They almost always end up following your footsteps anyway, especially if you take care of your hair very well. Trust me, I know, I’m talking from experience.
There you have it. You are now ready to go natural, lol. Natural hair is beautiful and easy to take care of if you put your mind to it. And finally, don’t buy into the misconception that natural hair is cheaper to maintain than relaxed hair, it is not! If that is why you are thinking of going natural, you are in for a rude awakening.
